Date: Greenville
The Eagles will appear at the Bi-Lo Center on March 8th.
Tickets go on sale 11/13 from Ticketmaster.
If you will be attending the show please post in the comment section. Don't forget to come back after the show and post your review.
My husband I are from Atlanta, and we went to both the Greenville and Atlanta shows. We loved them both, of course, but the Atlanta show was better. They seemed to have more energy and fun in Atlanta, and they did the new songs there. But we had a great time in Greenville. Joe is my favorite Eagle, and I love to see him whenever possible. He ROCKED both shows! I hope the Eagles roll on with more tours and new songs.

The Greenville show makes my 5th eagles show and the forth with the current line-up.I disagree with anyone that says the guys did not want to be there.First they play a technically correct show for over three hours anyone would have to pace the use of energy for such a long show. The guys were spectacular as always and performed with only minor in-perfections. Now I want to first say that I am a Don Felder fan and being a guitarest myself I appreciate Dons talent and what he brought to the band. Anyone who has seen Steuart Smith perform and says with a straight face that he is not as talented of a muscian as Don Felder is full of SH%#! Steuart is phenomanal and a god gifted musician. He has lifted the eagles live performance several notches and nails it everytime. One would be more than ignorant and obviously biased to criticize hes amazing ability to play the guitar. Second, could you imagine how difficult it would be to please Don Henley and Glen Fry? If you want to trash someone then trash Glen and Don for firing Don but leave steuart out of it because they were very smart in choosing one of the best guitarest to pick one up with Steuart Smith.

RJ I agreed with you about the Felder stuff. Steuart Smith rocks!

RJ, you hit the nail right on the head. It was an AWESOME concert. Hey, the guys are only human. Sure, they may miss a chord on occasion but, all in all, they were dead on. No complaints here. I spent the day yesterday bemoaning the fact that I couldn't go to Atlanta to hear the same songs all over again.

In response to some negative reviews I have been reading on here:
I'm quite tired of seeing all of these negative reviews on here about how the band has no energy, and that the ticket prices are too steep. First of all, The Eagles are about the music first and foremost, not about putting on a great stage act. Unfortunatley this might lead to some lacking in facial emotions or energy, but these guys set the bar for musical precision in a live concert. If you really think that the band is failing to hit notes or is missing chords then please go to a concert of one of their contemporaries (Fleetwood Mac, Paul McCartney, The Who etc.). Not only will you come to realize how far superior The Eagles are in recreating their songs from 30 years ago, but you will pay the same, or even more to do so.
Furthermore, Steuart Smith is NOT Don Felder, and he is not trying to be Don Felder. Anyone who knows anything about music will tell you that you cannot bring in an accomplished musician and say, "Here, copy this guy note for note, thanks." He has to have his own style, or else he would simply be bored out of his mind up there copying what someone else did. Yes, I know that Eagles fans go to an Eagles concert to hear the songs as they were on the album, but as long as he keeps to the basic framework of how Felder played I would stop complaining. This is all just my opinion, if I'm alone in all of this I'll shut up. Thank you.

I don't believe that I attended the same show as all of you people! I thought that this show was average at best! Certainly not worth the $115 for each ticket that I paid for! From the very first moment that the Eagles took the stage I knew it was not going to be a great show. There was absolutely no energy on their part as they took the stage. Every one of them had a long face and looked as if their best friend had just died and they had been an a binge for the last two years. I don't beleive any of them wanted to be there. None of them were hitting the high notes in any of their respective songs. Joe Walsh probably did the best job with that of the group with his songs, if that tells you anything. Their lack of enthusiasm really showed in the music. Not only were they often not together, there was an incredible amount of missed notes and chords which even Frey acknowleged on stage. This was the first show I have attended without Felder in the group. He was sorely missed. His replacement missed several riffs and just flat screwed up at least two others. I'm surprised Henley and Frey even hired this guy with their past reputations as perfectionists. Maybe this is just another example of what little interest they have in this tour. They did play for three hours. I have to give them credit for the last hour or so. They played fairly well and gave us a decent attempt at rocking the house. Overall, however, I felt cheated. I heard that the Eagles were going to show up but I don't think they ever really did.

Just back from the Greenville show - wow! Great show! These guys can still rock on! Was a bit disappointed at times that you really could not hear Joe play some solo stuff - especially during Already Gone. Pretty much the same show they had in 2003 - just outstanding.

I agree with the superlatives posted about the Greenville show. Wonder if anyone else from this area is tempted to make the short trip down I-85 to Atlanta to catch a second performance? If only I wasn't so poor, and the 10th wasn't another weeknight . . . .

TS had posted this with the Jacksonville date, so I'm adding it here also to go with the Greenville concert:
The Greenville show was spectacular. Its details were pretty much the same as Craig reported from Jax, except they dropped the two new tunes. They still played for nearly three hours, as in Jacksonville. But in contrast to a couple of the comments about the first two shows of the tour, last night Henley hit his stride in a big way. If you're an Eagles fan and can pop for the expensive tics, don't miss it! Take your teenage kids along, too, as the decent numbers of them attending Greenville's show seemed to love it, including my 14 year old (who, to his credit, wanted to go bad enough to pay for his own ticket!). Also, be sure to "request" the three encores they're willing to do, as did the 14,000 who jammed the Bi-Lo Center.

Last night’s show was just awesome. Those guys just get better and better.
First, the “fashion statement” – first half of the show was the spiffy suits – Don in all black – when he took to the drums he took off his coat and he had on a long sleeve black shirt that appeared to be silk – OH MY!!! Glenn was in the ever popular grey suit and hot pink shirt. Timothy wore all black also – black t-shirt under a long black coat. Joe Walsh too was in all black with what appeared to be either gold or silver lame sneakers (it was hard to tell because of the lighting). After the break it was all casual. Don in black pants, plaid shirt with a denim jacket. Glenn was in a pink and white striped shirt over a black t-shirt and light blue jeans and, of course, the black and white shoes. Joe wore the red and yellow camo pants and a black t-shirt over a long sleeve black knit shirt. Timothy was sizzling in black flare leg pants and a black t-shirt with white stitching on the seams and hem. (Sigh)
As for the show, of course, the guys were just fantastic. They were all in fine voice and seemed to be having a really good time. The only downside – no new songs – for whatever reason they did not perform One Day at a Time or No More Cloudy Days :(. I know the set list in John's post says they did but we didn't hear it. I forget a lot of things but I don't think I'd forget a new Eagles song!! I thought they were going to because of the intro Joe gave. He came up to the mic and said, “How’s your century been? I didn’t expect to live this long. I don’t know what to do. Just take one day at a time I guess. Here's a song from the last century.” (May not be an exact quote, but close) Then they launched into Walk Away.
There were a few light hearted moments. After one song when Glenn had changed guitars he came to the mic and said, “I missed a chord on that one now I owe $5.00. When the guy handed me the guitar he whispered, ‘You owe 5 bucks’. We have this party fund…..” The crowd loved it. And for those who left before or after the first encore (can you believe anyone would leave BEFORE the encores???), they missed something priceless. Glenn was doing his “dance” during All She Wants To Do Is Dance. We (my son, daughter-in-law and I) were fortunate to be on the same side of the stage as the keyboards. Glenn was dancing and then he turned his back to the audience, pulled his shirt tight across his backside and started wiggling his butt at the audience. Then he pulled the shirt up and just wiggled his butt at us. I nearly fell over the rail. There were a couple of serious moments too. Don was introducing Hole In the World and telling how they were supposed to be going into the studio on 9/11. Some nutcases (probably drunk) were yelling. Don said, “Why are you cheering?” He really looked peed off. Some one, Glenn I think, whispered to him to the effect that the cheering was because of the mention of going into the studio. That seemed to appease him somewhat. And I have to say I am ashamed of some of the people in that audience. When the band introductions were made some people actually booed Steuart Smith. I was so embarrassed. I would like to apologize the band for the rednecks who were in on that. It was so uncalled for. At any rate, Glenn, as always, used the “plaintiff” and “credit card” remarks when introducing Lying Eyes and Take It To the Limit.
Just an absolutely fantastic show. I heard my son talking to the folks sitting beside him. He said, “They call the Rolling Stones the world’s greatest rock band but they are sloppy. No, it’s these guys. They are so tight and every song is done to perfection.” Guess I raised him right, huh? :) Wow, wish I could go back tonight. I’d gladly pay another $100.00 to experience that again.

Just returned from the show and out of the 3 times I have seen them, this one takes the cake! The energy they gave was amazing! They enjoyed the fans energy and they still have a blast with one another on stage. I thought the mix of the solo hits was an awesome mix into the concert! They played for over 3 hours. If they are coming to your town, it's a must see. They make todays artists seem so behind the times! :)

as a teenager in the 70's this group pretty much defined the music of the era(even though disco was around) and it's great to see them back out so i can't wait to see them one more time

Heh i'd meet you for a beer, but considering im only 17, that might be a problem, anyhow though, i am really excited, my first time seeing the eagles live, been a fan all of my life, something they have just pulls you to them, no matter how long they've been around.
