Steuart Smith is a master with the artificial harmonics,i want know more on this big guitarist

Does anyone have a playlist from the April 8, 2005 show, it was one of the best concerts i have ever seen, and would like to have the playlist.

"seems to me" is actually called walk away

I have been an Eagles fan since the beginning, saw them at the Capital in Passaic NJ in 75 and in Philly two years ago. Loved the concert at Continental last night, but was disappointed there weren't any new songs.

Last night went with 360 and the wives to see the Eagles in concert. I am not sure exactly what I expected having never seen them before. I also was thinking well this is the Reunion tour that is going on forever so they are probably all tired out, won't get my monies worth, etc. WELL, boy was I wrong and totally surprised. This was one of the best concerts I have been too in quite a while.

The Band was extremely tight. So much so that I do not think that I could figure out who was leading. Their individual vocal ranges were very strong. The choice of songs in the setlists were one after another of their greatest hits. Joe Walsh was a complete trip! I did not expect solo career songs but when “Boys of Summer” began it definitely made my night.

The classic “Desperado” for closing was haunting and left the crowd exhausted and satiated as the final cut.

Eagles
Farewell I Tour
East Rutherford, NJ
April 1, 2005

The second of three shows scheduled at the Meadowlands Arena was yet another perfect performance.

Here are some more random observations:

This show is so tightly scripted you can set your watch by it. Same set, same deal, perfection night after night. The crowd reactions are the same from city to city at identical points of certain songs. You get to know that there is no point in sitting back down for the blues intro to Funk #49 because in about 20 seconds, everyone will be on back their feet the moment the song is recognized. Even the wardrobe is similar. This was the fourth show that I attended on this leg and Glenn Frey has worn the same shirt for the second set on each night.

GF once again welcomed the NJ crowd by asking if “anybody out there was from New Jersey?” and went on to express his affection for the Eagles history in the region by stating that “before the Eagles were happnin’ in Manhappnin’, they were happnin’ in New Jersey”. Articulating a bond with a particular area is something Frey usually does. In Atlanta, he loved Atlanta, in Denver 2001, he spoke of the early days at the Gallery in Aspen and in Long Island, 1996, he mentioned the history of the NY Islanders. (Before being loudly booed by the NY Rangers fans!)

Don Henley’s intro of Hole in the World received a strange reaction on this night. While mentioning the significance of this song as it relates to the NY area, portions of the audience actually cheered what was intended to be a somber moment. Looking totally perplexed, Henley responded “life is full of riddles”.

Joe Walsh delivered a vintage “How Ya Dooin’ ” prior to In The City. Joe also commented on how this song featured the highest note that he could sing.

Tongue in cheek, Henley introduced Dirty Laundry as “a Lisa Marie Presley song” (On Thursday night he had dedicated this song to Rupert Murdoch).

At the conclusion of the backing bands introduction, Steuart Smith and Joe Walsh play this little riff with a typical James Bond movie soundtrack chord. This time, Joe went in to a Twilight Zone riff after the Bond thing. Glenn then asked “what was it going to be? James Bond or the Twilight Zone?” GF stated how cool the James Bond chord was and had JW and SS play it again. Nice!

At the end of the second set, a fan presented Timothy B. Schmit with what appeared to be a pink rose. He proceeded to stick it in his teeth as he waved goodbye to the audience. Glenn Frey seemed to get a big kick out of this.

One note of mentioned for you players out there: Hotel California has been dumped ½ step. Steuart Smith has moved capo down from seventh fret to sixth and GF has moved capo down from second fret to first. I guess this gives Henley’s vocal a break as he does not have to go as high.

Just who is the genius who came up with the idea of putting a camera in a cell phone anyway? Weren’t cell phones annoying enough without a camera? If you have one of these cheesy devices and intend on sticking it up in the air throughout the show, please, turn it off and stuff it. Let you buddies shell out $177 for a ticket so that you don’t have to annoy other patrons with your play by play account of the show complete with crappy images. When will the B.S. that goes on at these shows end?

Next stop: The Nassau Mausoleum, Uniondale, NY, April 3

It was a very good show - here's the set list as best as I can recall (I may have one or two things out of sequence):

The Long Run
New Kid in Town
Wasted Time
Peaceful Easy Feeling
I Can’t Tell You Why
One of These Nights
Lyin’ Eyes
In the City
Boys of Summer
Already Gone

Tequila Sunrise
Love Will Keep Us Alive
Hole in the World
Take It to the Limit
You Belong to the City
Seems to Me
Dirty Laundry
Life’s Been Good
Sunset Grill
Funk #49
Heartache Tonight
Life in the Fast Lane

Hotel California
Rocky Mountain Way
All She Wants to Do Is Dance
Take It Easy
Desperado

I agree Henley's voice struggled a bit - at times it almost sounded like he had a cold.

It was always a dream since childhood to see the Eagles. I absolutely totally loved the concert last night. I am still on cloud 9. Couldn't have been a better concert...

LOVE YOU HENLEY & GLEN

By the way the set list was the same as the one posted on 3/9 for the 3/8 Greenville show except the 2 new songs were not performed. Disappointing , I wanted to hear some new stuff after eleven years already.

Great show last night. Even though Henley's voice was a little weak and i thought they did too many solo tunes , we still enjoyed the show. Highlights were Wasted time, Take it to the Limit, Hole in the World, and of course Hotel California with Steuart Smith on double neck guitar. Frey's You Belong to the City was weak, the only weak song of the night. This was my 3rd time seeing them, probably the best time was 94 at Giants Stadium butt his was a fine show nonetheless.

These guys haven't lost a thing! Unbelievable concert...Does anyone have the playlist for last night's show?

AMAZING!

Hopefully I will get to see this one since the tickets I had for the 16th were used for someone else's pleasure :(
