Glad you guys gave me the heads up on this. Can't wait until Saturday morning to see what kind of tickets I get.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get GOOD SEATS for the AC show? I HATE ticketmaster because they NEVER sell the good seats----if anyone has any clever ideas pleas advise. Thanks in advance for any & all suggestions,
Mary R

Well, lucky old me has 10th row tickets for the Borgata show---NOW, I figure it's time to have a little FUN!!! OK, here goes, Mr. Henley, I've got a request for the show from a LONG TIME FAN (by the way, I was the FIRST PERSON in line to me you at the XM Studios bash in DC this past winter), may I make a request for the show---I've always wanted to hear YOU do "Take It To the Limit". Yeah, I KNOW that Mr Frey does it at all the recent Eagles concerts, however, it has always seemed to me that YOU would be the better choice to perform the song because, after all, YOU HAVE THE MOST AWESOME VOICE OF ALL!!! Thus, whatta ya say----would you consider my sincere request to perform "Take It To the Limit" in Atlantic City on July 9th. Thanks in advance for any and all consiseration you might give to this request. Your most loyle So Jersey fan,
Mary

Today I grabbed a ticket in the 7th row, one section over from the center section. Seem to be a few coming up now

I had gotten tickets the first day they went on sale (late afternoon though). The ones that TM is showing now are better. Mine are far left 19th row! I'm not happy. I figured it was worth a shot to call TM to try to exchange it, but no luck. I guess I should have waited, but didn't think these seats would get better as time went on like the Eagles show last year.

Yeah I had almost picked out something in the back- it was great for the Eagles last year as we got front row seats for both nights the week before!! I am suprised he is only doing 3 eagles songs though, maybe he could drop one of those cover tunes for desperado

Actually he does four Eagles songs. Witchy Woman, Fast Lane, HC, and Desperado

We went to the AC show last night. It was, of course, great. The setlist was the same, except Taking You Home was dropped & he did play Everybody Knows. As reported, he does seem to be enjoying himself more than I've ever seen. I saw him in Atlantic City in Oct. of 2002 & he was a completely different personality this time - much more animated - smiles galore!

We originally had not-so-great seats, but were able to exchange the tickets we had for 12th row, center stage so I was a happy camper. (Not as happy as when I've had first row, but I will live!) About 15 minutes before the show started a group of about ten people came in with bags & backstage passes - I'm assuming these were the VIP package people. They did have seats in the first few rows, but they were off to the right of the stage. I would have been disappointed. Several times through the show, Don went over to that side & smiled & waved to this group (Maybe he felt they got the short end of the stick too!)

The only thing I was disappointed in was the length of the show. It was under two hours. I do think L&M are right about time restrictions from the casino because just before he started Desperado he said one more number folks, they want you back out in the casino. Also, he did introduce the band - they were all great.

I took some pictures - will be getting them in a few hours. I'll send them on to L&M if they are any good.

If anyone is in doubt whether to go see this show, but all means go. I've never seen Henley in such a good mood & I've been going to his/Eagles shows since the '70's. Wish I could afford to travel more!!

Two things I forgot in my original post. When talking about Witchy Womas he went through the usual Zelda thing. He aslo talked about "girls who were witches" in the early '70's. He said they had oils & herbs (among other things) & lots of ferns in their apartments & would want to give backrubs to which he agreed to. The one he "remembered" specifically was Patty. I'm assuming this was NOT Patty Davis!

The other thing I thought was funny was during the talk on Sunset Grill, he was talking about how no one can make a good hamburger anymore. The rolls are too hard & they use funky cheese not his favorite, Velvetta. He said Joe would put so much cheese on the burgers it would drip down between you knuckls. He said it was great - almost as good as sex. These were a couple little tidbits I had not heard done so elaborately before. He was chatty as I said before. He aslo encouraged the people to get up - didn't take much it was a very enthusiastic crowd. I think I was up at least 50% of the time, as were most people. We all enjoyed it & he definitely knew it.

Sorry to ramble, I'm still a bit excited. If anything else hits me, I'll let you know!!

AC was fun- as Debbie mentioned it was under two hours, 8:15pm-10:05pm. I enjoyed it more than 10/2002 because there was no opening act - I don't like Atlantic City itself much and enjoy going to see shows there when i can go in see the show and leave!!! The encores were exactly the same as 10/2002 of course, and I was surprised he didnt play more than one song from inside job, given that the songs mean a lot to him. I especially like Taking You Home and For My Wedding Day. My only complaint was it would have been nice to hear an additional song or two from the first two albums( A month full of Sundays maybe) - Building the Perfect Beast is my favorite of his.
Sat in the sixth row (even though it said row 7) and the sound mix was very good. The band is incredible- the guitarists really played well tonight, even better than usual. After the show I almost drove all night to Foxwoods, but had a pizza at home i needed to finish. I hope since he is playing Syracuse and Boston that he considers adding a Philly show but I doubt it at this point.

dinner at the Hard Rock $50
drinks at the concert $42
Don Henley t-shirt $30
lost at casino $60
7th row center aisle seats--$226
2 hours Don Henley on stage--priceless

I told my husband he must get some Redwing boots. It is the sexiest attire I have seen on a man in a long time.

The concert was great. I was smiling and singing along the whole time. I'm not much of a music critic. I just love the music and the man.

I was disappointed the event staff was making people sit down during the concert. If someone stood up, the staff would come and tell him/her to sit down. I have never been to a concert where they did this. Finally, on Boys of Summer or All She Wants to Do Is Dance so many people stood up they couldn't make everyone sit down, and the crowd remained up with Don's encouragement to those in the back. Don did seem like he enjoyed the show as much as we did, and he liked the crowd being into it.

I can't wait until my next opportunity to go to an Eagles/Henley concert. I love the Eagles, but he is absolutely my favorite. It was a great evening.

Regarding Bri & Rob's comment on security. It was hard to sit still as long as we had to! These guys were much better than the last Henley concert at the Trump casino. They were making people sit all night - it was awful. Plus a lady had flowers she wanted to give to DH. The security told her to go sit down, Henley saw what was going on & motioned for them to let her come up. Some of these guys take their job way to seriously. I realize things could get out of hand, but it was taken a step too far that night.

Got back from Atlantic City late last night and was too tired to post. It was almost a 7 hour drive from West Virginia. The show was great just as I knew it would be. We had great 7th row seats. Don was wonderful all night and his band did a great job. I was very happy he did Witch Woman. I see my thoughts about security not letting people stand up has pretty much been addressed here. Don appeared to really be enjoying himself. I didn't want him to quit singing. He proved once again why I love him solo as much as with the Eagles. I do hope he keeps doing solo shows too.
My birthday is July 23 and going to see Don was my birthday present. I told my husband nothing could have topped it not even jewelry.

still can't believe what a great show don put on. would've preferred it to be longer, but i was very happy to take what i could get. anyway, did the vip package from iloveallaccess.com and wasn't disappointed. this was a first for me & i was just thrilled. must've been an important stop, since i saw irving backstage with some of the casino folks. got dons' autograph on my laminated pass & really did enjoy the show. can't wait for the next opportunity to go see don and or the eagles again. this is one of those shows well worth every penny. i'm still giddy !! :)

I now see in my earlier post I made a typo in Witchy Woman. Don't know how I could not have caught such a blatant error before I posted. Believe me I know the title is Witchy Woman. It is one of my favorites.
