L&M - Did you guys get tickets?

No, we haven't found any tickets yet. We'll have to see.....maybe we won't go if we can't get anything decent.

FYI... If you are going to the show seriously consider taking METRA. Traffic in and out of this place can be a nightmare. My sister sat in traffic for three hours for a BoDeans show years ago and actually missed the concert!

Hey L&M - Question for ya... I see Don is taking a bit of a vacation after this concert. Can we expect anything different tonight since it will be his last one for awhile? I'm hoping that he'll be in incredible spirits (looking towards a vacation) and really crank out some different tunes...
Thoughts?

Just got back from the show, what can I say? Great Show, Don Looked great, talked more than usual. He made fun of the drunks, and SANG AWESOME.
When he did the "Political Science" song(Bit, this guy got ticked off and started yelling, and left , while flicking Don Off(That Guy=Idiot).
Ravinia Is An Awesome Place, I had awesome seats too.
Great Show by Don Again!

Aw heck... I'm up anyway so I might as well write a quick summary of the show...
First off - Ravinia is a GREAT place. Metra (train) drops you off right at the front gate. You can pack in a whole dinner, wine, beer, etc... with you to the lawn seats. Everyone is festive and forgiving. No fights, etc... it's a classy place with classy people nestled into the beautiful north shore community of Highland Park.
HOWEVER - the lawn seats are not traditional lawn seats. It's more a European style of seating where the lawn is flat and far away from the venue. In other words - you can't see the performer. Speakers are posted all over the lawn. I can't tell you what Don was wearing because I never saw him once....
As far as the show goes - the set list is posted above. He played all of those (I still think I'm missing one) but not necessarily in that order.
From where I was sitting - Don's voice sounded great. He was quite chatty and basically told the same stories as previously posted. He went into great detail about Zelda, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Witchy Woman. He knocked "Dubyah" and Cheney around a bit before "Political Science".
The weather was beautiful. Sunny and then a clear sky at night. Warm and beautiful.
Amy and I drove all the way back to Green Bay after the show (she's opening up the school library in the morning for the little kids to check out books - how noble!).
Side note - Sorry REESA for not hooking up at the show. Things got a little nuts at home and we never set up a meeting spot. Hope you liked it.
This is my third time seeing Henley and I've seen the Eagles three times as well. Good times...
Looking forward to reading subsequent posts - after the break!

Definitely a solid show. The story leading into Sunset Grill was very cool.
During the show, I actually got right behind the barricade separating the lawn from the pavillion seats. Once "Fast Lane" started everyone stands up and my view of the stage is blocked. But that's OK.
Ravinia is a cool place and for anyone who cares a great date spot.
