Just a quick review of the evening: I was part of the M-n-G and Don seemed to be in good spirits...I asked him if he had considered dropping in on any of the upcoming "Vote To Change" shows and he said it's possible...he said it might be a bit tight timewise between the end of this tour and the start of Eagles in far east....I suggested the Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt grouping would seem to be a natural fit if he does it and he agreed...he also joked that he's out there every night working for change....as for the show, we had front row center seats---seemed just like Don/Band was in my living room performing...excellent audio and amazing sight lines...vocals and music mix were incredible and he sounded strong, relaxed, and fresh...the whole show was excellent but special hi-lites for me were:
--Dirty Laundry: still a great song and excellent way to kick off the show
--Everybody Knows: live version is mixed so much better than on the CD
--Last Worthless Evening: great treatment from the band and dead-on vocals
--Witchy Woman: hadn't heard it live since Eagles tour in the 70's
--Heart of the Matter: still grabs you from the opening riff and never lets go
--the Eagles tunes near the end (Fast Lane, Hotel, and Desperado)
and finally, a surprise closing...they did a cover of Everybody Wants to Rule the World...
all in all, SUPERB evening.....he's still one of the best singers going....the band was incredibly tight....no better way to spend my birthday!!

Just a quick note because I am short on time, but what a fabulous performance. Don is still looking and sounding execllent. Don't miss this tour!
I loved the covers he did. Randy Newman's Political Science was awesome and what really blew me away was the final song! Don did a cover of Tears For Fears "Everyone Wants to Rule The World". It totally had everyone blown away. The voice is incredible.
Every song was great, it was a superb evening at the best concert venue in the entire state of Washington - the winery.

How much better does it get than leaving wanting for more...much more... "one more hit"? We had a phenomenal time, actually ranked this the best concert we ever attended with front row dead center seats. Mr. Henley delivered even more than we expected, we did not want the performance to end. The only thing that would have made it perfect for me would have been "Goodbye to a River". Oh well, next time... something to look forward to.

Went to the show lastnight....Wonderful!!!! Don is such a classy person!! I would go to the Goldendale concert if I didn't have to work tonight. Things got really screwed up for me as it turns out I bought a Goldendale ticket instead of a woodenville ticket. Wouldn't you know it was 3rd row. I didn't figure out my screw up until 2:30 yesturday. You can imagine how bummed I was. I ended up having to sit on the grass. I did manage to get close to the stage as it was only me that went. They had a dance section roped off, which I have never seen done before. I was next to that. About half way through or should I say when the "Boys of Summer" started everyone started moving into that section. I ran for the front which was about 3 yards kitty-corner to the stage. There was probly 60 or so all in that area. Don looked over and the look on his face seemed pleased that all of us were having such a good time. He tended to pay alittle more attention to that side of the stage after that. Anyways.....for such a bummer start for me...it turned out wonderful. The only thing I would have liked to see more of the band. I love to watch them play. Especially the drums. Well its over. Bummer!! Guess we'll wait till next year maybe?

The m&g in Woodinville was great, and I met some fun people, too. They had a nice wine and cheese spread for us while we were waiting, and raffled off some merchandise. (I won a tour t-shirt; the same one I would have bought, so that worked out pretty well!) Don was in this old house on the winery property, which was beautiful and even had a peacock watching us curiously. I told Don he made me a better environmentalist, and that I really appreciated all his efforts he's done. He seemed grateful. Luckily for me, when he asked how to spell my name it was so loud in there that I had to spell it in his ear (I can attest that he smells good). Being the dork that I am -- I gave him this gift -- a paperweight with one of Thoreau's quotes on it. He seemed to like it and was very appreciative. Then he grumbled "We've got to get this thing moving" -- not grumpy to me, but I think he just realized how late he was. I put both my arms around him in a hug for the picture (someone in line said "That's the way to take advantage of him!"), but I thought what the heck. Like others have said, our front row seats were like a private concert, and I also think I appreciated the other band members more from seeing how hard they worked up close (especially Symes -- wow!). Don's voice was in great form. My personal favorites were "Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat" which I'd never seen in concert before and "Everybody Knows," which was VERY nice! They tried to do their light shows, but it stays light pretty late out here in the summer. Around 9:00 p.m., Don asked "Does it EVER get dark here?!" Then he said he should get used to it because he's going to Alasksa soon. Scott Crago came over and gave the guy sitting next to me (forget his name) his pair of drumsticks because he said he earned it (he was having a great time). Don bantered a bit with the audience, but his political jokes were kind of downplayed, I thought. Anyway, I was left wanting more!
