Had such a great time last night in Primm. We saw the back entrance to the arena, saw Don getting out of a vehicle and go inside. We were able to hear sound check from the same area outside, and it was 109 degrees outside. I told my husband it sounded like You're Not Drinking Enough, and sure enough, they played it later.
The meet and greet was great. I won a Henley key chain. My seat was front row, right in front of Don, I couldn't have gotten any closer. I had 2 copies of Heaven is Under Our Feet signed, along with my ticket. He told me there was a new Walden book out, which I wasn't aware of. He said the price was $28.12, one cent less than something, I was so awestruck, I can't even remember what he said, but it was a joke, I think... I gave Don a birthday card, which he appreciated. Can't wait til they post the pics on the website, just hope my jaw isn't on the floor.
Don sang beautifully, but I missed the horns. And I was so hoping he'd sing My Thanksgiving, and he didn't. Oh, what a night!

Did he comment on the whole "Linda Ronstadt" thing?

Observations from Jean:
In: Jeans Out: Cargo Pants
In: Everybody Knows Out: Taking You Home and the Ray Charles song
In: Further embellishment on the Velveeta story (you have to use the BIG knife!) Out: Any and all things political (including Science)
In: You Must Not Be Drinking Enough! Out: All fans taking flash photos (big no no!)
Also news of a bus crash involving the band bus a few weeks ago which broke the clavicle of keyboardist Mike Thompson. The crowd was a little slow to get moving, but the sound was great, Don's mood was good and he took all the birthday wishes in stride. No Ronstadt comments in Jean, but there were some references made the following night in San Diego.

What did he say in San Diego? I was going to make a joke about it to him tomorrow in Phoenix, but I won't if it's old news by now. Don't want to look stupid.

There was no reference to Linda Ronstadt, but he did insert a couple of political comments. He changed the words to EOI, instead of tired old man that we elected king, his words sounded like brash young man that we elected king.

The show in Jean was an 11+ - great voice, great energy, great band. The audience of over 6,000 was up on their feet dancing most of the time. A very heady experience..
