We've updated the "Ask the Fastlane" section. All old questions have been answered and posted.
This is the time of year when various radio stations and publications come up with their lists of the best songs of all time. If you hear of one of these lists, please post the Eagles songs that made it in the comments section of this post. I bet we can collect quite a few.
Gosh, if you don't post for a couple of days, everything scrolls off the screen. Sorry for that. We're back home now and after things get unpacked, we'll start unpacking some updates.
We hope that everyone has a safe and happy New Year. Our thoughts are with our friends in South-East Asia. Please check in if you can. If you're able to, we encourage you to check out some charities who are helping out with this horrible disaster.
We hope that everyone has time this holiday season to relax and spend time with friends and family. We'll be on the road for about a week, but if anything important happens, we'll have it up here ASAP.
All calendar orders, video orders and paid auction items have been shipped.
If you're looking for a little Eagle flavor for your holiday, may we suggest the following:
It's Cold In Here ... rare Frey audio
El Santa ... Henley and the Four Speeds
New Year's Eve ... Walsh's contribution to the Waterboy soundtrack
River ... Video of Henley singing this xmas downer
The Walden Woods Project has put their latest newsletter up online. It's got lots of information about the WWP's doings. It also has a couple of nice photos of Henley.
We will be deleting all of the old mailing lists in a few hours. If you haven't yet subscribed to the new one, please put your email address in the box over there on the right. We can't wait to see you there. Already, the new list has had more posts than the old one did in the last few months. Let's keep it up!
We told you that we had been working on some stuff behind the scenes. We're ready to go live with one of them. We've always struggled with the fact that we aren't good biography writers. We don't have a lot of actual historical / biographical stuff on the site because of that.
We final have come up with what we hope will be a solution. The Eaglepedia!
Now...a bit of background: Some of you may be familiar with the Wikipedia. The Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia built by site visitors. We're hoping the Eaglepedia will follow suit.
We're using Wiki technology. That may sound complicated...but it really isn't. We've started the Eaglepedia off with a brief bio of the band. As you read it, you'll notice that YOU can edit the pages. That's right. We're hoping that the information will be compiled by site visitors. Using the wiki technology is quite easy. If you can use a word processor...you can use a Wiki. Please head over to the Eaglepedia and poke around. Read the How to Help section and try adding some information. We think this can be really cool. There are SO MANY Eagles experts out there. It would be great to have a record of the combined knowledge.
Now that things have stablized with the tour dates (and we've had the time to catch up) the 2005 TourBlog is now accurate. Feel free to start posting on it with your concert plans.
Well, the auction is over. I've sent out winning bidder e-mails to everyone who won. Please be prompt about sending payment. We'd like to mail everything out before we go to Wisconsin. Thanks to all who participated. The only item that didn't sell was the Don Felder Flow 45. If you are interested in it...send an e-mail.
I will be ordering calendars tomorrow so you have until about noon tomorrow to get an order in VIA paypal. If you have sent a check, please let us know. If you want a calendar and want to send a check let us know. If we know you or if we've done business with you in the past, we'll order one for you before payment gets here.
Remember, the drawing for our donors is this Wednesday. All who donated to the Fastlane will be put in a drawing for a few cool prizes.
Thanks again!
