Tunica Get-Together

We know a lot of people are going to the Frey show in Tunica in a couple of weeks. We thought we'd start a thread on Eagleland so that we can get things organized.

Please check in over there and let everyone know if you will be around Friday night or Saturday night and what you'd be interested in doing.

This should be a lot of fun.

Eaglesband dot Com

The new official Eagles site is now up and running.  Be sure to check it out.  Since there isn't a message board there, post your thoughts about the new site here.

Jim Capaldi Dead at 60

Jim Capaldi, the drummer of Traffic died on Friday. Jim is known in Eagles' circles as a co-writer of Love Will Keep Us Alive. Rock and Roll will feel his loss.

Speaking of Elvis.....

Lisa Marie Presley has a new album coming out and she has covered "Dirty Laundry". You can listed to it for a limited time via AOL Music (you don't have to be a member to listen on the web). Take a listen and post your comments below. It actually isn't bad.

Bravo will be airing a special called "More Than Music: Heartbreak Hotel" on January 30th. I can't find it on the Bravo page, but Rock on TV has the notice. The half-hour special claims to include interviews with the following:

Levon Helm (The Band); Joe Mauldin (Buddy Holly &The Crickets); Waylon Jennings; Carl Perkins; Marty Stuart; Jerry Lee Lewis; D.J. Fontana -- Elvis' drummer; Chet Atkins; Charlie Daniels; Scotty Moore -- Elvis' guitarist; Tom Petty; Engelbert Humperdinck;
Micky Dolenz (The Monkees); Don Felder (The Eagles); Robbie Krieger
(The Doors).

RAC Brief

The Recording Artists' Coalition submitted a friend of the court brief in a current case about file sharing that is before the Supreme Court. The RAC page has a press release. There is a quote from Henley. He says:

There is no more important case for the future of our business. These systems promote copyright violations on an unprecedented scale. They make millions of dollars, but pay the artists nothing,"

Japanese Magazine

D_1There is a lovely Japanese magazine featuring information about Joe's Ham Radio hobby. The photos are lovely. We've made a page where you can see a PDF of the entire article or just look at a few photos.

Calendars

Just a reminder that tomorrow is the last day to get in a calendar order. We'll be placing the order this weekend and need a day to organize. This will be the last order for the 2005 edition.
