Sherlock Henley Solves Missing Guitar Mystery
This is the last of the stories we found. It's a really sweet one from the Melbourne Age back from when the band toured there last year.
Byron O'Toole was just hoping for an autograph; instead, he had the experience of a life-time.
Byron, a 14-year old from Hurstbridge, attended the Eagles' concert at Rod Laver last week. Byron suffers from a rare blood disorder and sought the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation in order to get his prized acoustic guitar signed by his musical heroes.
Byron and his mother, Constance, met the band before the show and left the guitar in the backstage area, "So I wouldn't have to carry it during the concert," explained Byron.
After dancing to hits such as "Take it Easy" and his favorite, "Hotel California," Byron was disappointed to learn that his guitar had gone missing.
It turns out the guitar was accidentally given to band member and former Eagle, Don Henley by a confused roadie. The crewmember, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated that he guitar looks an awful lot like Henley's. Byron went home disappointed but with band management's assurance that everything would be done to find his beloved instrument.
Byron and Constance were shocked when Don Henley himself appeared on their doorstep two days later. "He said they discovered the mixup during the band's soundcheck and he wanted to make sure I got my guitar back." To Constance's delight, the "Desperado" posed for photos in front of her prize-winning peonies. "We talked about gardening! He had lots of pointers," she said.
When asked for comment on the situation, Henley apologized and said, "They all told me that guitar was mine. I thought something was odd about it and even asked, but all of my former bandmates assured me that this guitar belonged to me!"
Henley's former bandmates assure
him that this is his guitar. It turns out
the guitar actually belonged to young
fan Byron O'Toole.

Hi
I dont know if anyone noticed but if you watch the whole credit part at the end of the DVD you'll find Don is asking about it (the guitar) to the bandmembers and the crew. I think this is the guitar he played during "no more cloudy days"

Aww, how sweet of Don. But it didn't happen to say if they signed it or not. Hmmmm... That's a classic!

1. After all the fun we made of Don not recognizing his own guitar. Guess he showed us!!!!
2. How very cool of Don to make the delivery himself.
3. Is Don actually referring to the guys as "former bandmates?" What sloppy writing!

"Former bandmates", lol. Priceless!
I like that kid's name, Byron. There's something very regal about that name, hehehe.
