Weidenfeld & Nicolson, the publisher, is part of the Orion Publishing Group. The book is still listed on their homepage. And no mention in the news so far that the book is cancelled. I guess if it's cancelled, they would have put it on the news.....

I'm still and ever will be a fan of the band but believe that this book must to come out.I'm so disappointed of Glenn and Don but, folks,it's the HEART of THE MATTER and I want to hear Felder's side of the story!

Maybe this is all about promotion. If Hyperion acts like there's something (what ever...) in this book that someone (who ever...) does not want to become public it makes everybody curios what this might be. If they keep it back and then publish it after some time a lot of people will not resist to take a peep at the supposedly dirty laundry in there. Perhaps they are playing with people's need for "scandals".

No mention about the book situation - It was all about the golf.

PS
I just came across this scheduled Sept 29th in Scotland. I wonder if he'll mention the book situation.

Sounds like it was some sort of last minute legal injunction by the Eagles. Hmmm...makes you wonder what was in it that they didn't want let out. I mean come on..this was a first hand account by somebody who was there. He probably didn't have to embellish anything.
Let's hope Felder has some good lawyers & it sees the light of day!!

If the book was canceled because of the settlement, that was something that Don Felder had to agree to...or, no settlement.
As for not being interested in his story...'To The Limit' satisfied my curiosity.

Why all the Felder hate? It's his story to tell, he was an Eagle. I like Don and Glen as much as everyone but I'm not going to put down the man that wrote The Eagles' biggest hit because he wants to get his story out there, a story that might show the seedier side of the group, but like I said before, it's Felder's story too. I can't imagine any Eagles fans wouldn't be interested in reading the book and I hope it's released. If not through legal means, then a leaked copy at least.

-Hmm. Simpson’s one eerie creep, but maybe what Hyperion is trying to tell us is that the guys in the Eagles are really spooky — at least according to Felder. So spooky, in fact, that King Eagles Don Henley and Glenn Frey have promised all sorts of pyrotechnic legal action against the publisher and Felder if indeed the book hits the streets.-
This sort of jumped out at me while reading that article.

Y'all, we are here to discuss the Eagles and news stories related to them...not to pick on and make fun of other posters for their opinions. Cool it.

dave your mom wants you to take the garbage out and clean your room...and aren't you a little bit old to be living at home??

dave, why do you waste your time posting on this site, if all you want to do is tear down the eagles? get a life pal!

"short on camaraderie" ??? "numerous incidents of intra-band squabbling" ??? Maybe it wasn't a 14 year vacation after all. Maybe they really did break up.

What took you so long, Dave? I expected your response to this news much sooner.

Thanks for your input Dave! The only new news I get from the EW article is that Don Felder admits to not being totaly responcable for writting ALL the music of HC, and it looks that way at Harry Fox Agency (jukebox licensing), if you take a look, HFA has only recently licensed HC,for the first time ever, with no Felder, which only means settlement is near. Kudos to L&M again for the great site.

>> I can't imagine any publisher wanting to touch it with the threat of Azoff et al looming over it. <<
Believe it or not, there are plenty of folks that aren’t afraid of that evil little troll with the napoleon complex.
If Felder is prevented from releasing his Eagles autobiography on the scheduled date, it was likely due to a last minute sleazy legal injunction by Henley, Frey & Azoff (Walsh and Schmit are, as usual, just happy to be invited to the photo sessions)
So while Felder was out this summer organizing charity golf tourneys, helping kids on The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, and lending his talent to Dennis Quaid’s Charity Weekend concert, Henley, Frey and Azoff were busy making sure their lawyers clean up all details and the loudest live to trample on the least.
Based upon the poor chart showing of their cover-of-a-cover single, the banality of the follow-up, and the crickets-chirping response to their new CD (The release was not even mentioned in Entertainment Weekly’s Fall Music Preview), I’d say they could use the publicity the book will garner.

Amazon.de (Germany) has it listed, too (for October 9th). It even has a picture of the License Plate Coverart.

Hi, I work in a library, and I just checked our primary ordering source and it still shows the book with a 10/9/07 publication date but if it has been canceled the information may not yet have been updated. I'll try and keep an eye on it over the next few days.

Just checked Hyperion website; the book is still being offered ..... Amazonuk also has it listed.
Dare we hope this is simply another rumor?

What a crock. I am more incline to think that Henley and Frey got this book killed with the settlement. I was looking forward to reading the book and getting some insight into the band. I wanted to read about how Henley who once said "they would never stick together just for the money" turned into such a money whore and needed complete control over all band members life's.

Poetic justice. Didnt want to see it in the light of day any way. Somewhere I hear Dirty Laundry being played right now.
