XM Long Road Out of Eden Preview

XM ran their Long Road Out of Eden preview show this morning. Essentially, it was a recut version of the last 3 part interview the band did with XM, but there were a few new tidbits in there. No new quotes from the band members about the album.  You can listen to the new cut of the interview if you'd like.

Long Road Update

EdenlittleWe've updated our Long Road Out of Eden page with the information from the Billboard article. Considering the album release is still a month away, I think we've done as good a job as possible (short of listening to a preview copy like the Billboard guy did) of flushing out what this album will be like. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this!.

Eagles Items For a Good Cause

Joe_walsh800 There are a couple of charity auctions that fans might be interested in:

Joe is participating in the Nordoff-Robbins Rockstar Radios auction. You can bid on a digital radio signed by Joe. Bidding starts on October 1st.

Some of you might remember that Poco drummer George Grantham suffered a stroke and has been in the process of recovering. His daughter, Grace, is holding an auction from October 2-9 to raise money to help support George. Timothy donated several Eagles items that you can bid on. Check out Grace's MySpace page for more information.

Felder on Golf

Don Felder was interviewed on the BBC about his passion for golf as a preview of this year's Dunhill Championship at St. Andrews in Scotland this week. Joe B. was cool to record the whole thing for your listening pleasure. If you'd rather just read what Don had to say, head over to felderfans.com.

Lots of Details About the New Album

Thanks to Michael for sending this in. Someone who writes for Billboard has heard the album. Read what they have to say about it.

What Do I Do With My Heart

This site has a 30 second clip of "What Do I Do With My Heart", a country ballad with lead vocals by Glenn.  What do you think?  Thanks to Child of the 70s for the tip! Click the song's title to hear the clip.

Felder Book Cancelled

According to this article in Entertainment Weekly, Felder's upcoming autobiography has been cancelled by the publisher.

Edited to add:  Here's an interesting opinion piece about the whole thing.

Eagles will be at CMAs

It's been confirmed that the band will be performing at the CMAs. I'm helping with babysittng 300 kids in a cafeteria after a bomb threat and early dismissal. More details a bit. It's been a heck of a morning so this helps.  Thanks to Andrea for the heads up. I've got a press release I'll post when I've got a real computer.

If you'd like to read the press release, Lisa has posted it over on Eagleland. It's kind of long and would take up a lot of front page space. Just scroll down on this page.

Monday Mentions

CanightsJust a couple of random tidbits to get your week off right. Some of these come right from the band's website and MySpace. It's great to see them using these more regularly to get the word out.

There's another chance for you to vote for the How Long video on VH1. This time, you don't need to text message. Drag the Eagles video to the #1 spot.

The band has placed a list of retailers where people living outside of the US can pre-order Long Road Out of Eden on their MySpace page.

Mr. Haney sent us a link to a new interview DVD being released on November 20th. We've put the link to it in our Amazon store. We have no clue what it is. You may remember that we mentioned this back when it was only available in the UK.
