Hey everyone. We just wanted to let you know that Eagleland is down. We've contacted our awesome board host Matt and we'll let you know as soon as we know what the problem is.
In other news...we're working on a few site tweaks. We wanted to freshen up the place in time for the new album, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
We got our weekly email update from XM and they are advertising an Eagles special called "Long Road Out of Eden" that is set to air on Sunday morning at 10 am Eastern time. It's being billed as "Interviews, Stories and Live Cuts". We're betting that it is a repackaging of the 3 part special XM did on the band a while ago, but it doesn't hurt to listen.
Update: This may be for next Sunday. The email is a bit confusing. We'll keep you posted
This was in the Tennessean this morning:
I've heard the Eagles are performing at the CMA Awards on Nov. 7.
Expect an official announcement next week. You can hear their new single, "How Long," on WSM-FM, and an album of new songs is coming Oct. 30. Don Henley is no stranger to the CMAs, having performed with Trisha Yearwood. He also is on Reba McEntire's new duets album.
Makes total sense to us. What do you think?
Thanks to tbsfan for the heads up!
Another Eagle turns 60 today. Make sure to check out our Felder page as well as the best Felder fan site out there: Felderfans.com.
The band has a preview of the track Busy Being Fabulous up on their MySpace. Can someone who doesn't have MySpace blocked at work let us all know some details? Type of song...lyrics...lead vocal?
They promise more preview tracks soon.
Apparently, it is also on the official site.
A while ago, we posted this article about the auction Joe's former manager David Spero was in the process of organizing. The auction is now in preview mode, so you can have a great time looking over this amazing collection of memorabilia. Some of our favorite items include the Joe bowling shirt, Tim's letter to the Hall of Fame regarding his key collection and a letter Glenn wrote thanking Dave for helping with Tiger Jam (it's naughty). We're wondering if we should feel bad that the copies of our old paper newsletter that we sent to Spero are part of an ephemera collection. Have fun looking. We're hoping that if site visitors are lucky enough to bid on and win the paper goods, that they'll share copies of them with the site.
What's your favorite piece from this collection? Post in the comments.
I think this is one of her favorite performances of Heart of the Matter. It's from the MTV Video Music awards. Arsenio Hall introduces Don by saying that he was bringing some class to the procedings. This was probably the last time there was any class on that particular awards show. Enjoy!
Today is Lisa's birthday! I know this site wouldn't be half of what it is without her ideas and hard work. Have a great day!!!!!!
Melanie did a great job of compiling all of the chart info this week:
Billboard currently has How Long at #33 on Country (up 11 spots), and listing it as "bubbling under" the Hot 100, which means it's on the verge of breaking that chart - which is tough to crack these days for someone who's not the "flavor of the week."
Also...Radio & Records lists How Long at #28 on Country this week, and #11 on AAA, and is moving up on both.
And...Joe's song with Kenny Chesney, Wild Ride, has officially debuted on the Country BDS (airplay) charts at #43!
Does anyone know if the video won Pick or Flick it this week?
