Updates from my morning perusal of HITS:
FAST COMPANY: The Eagles’ Long Road Out of Eden, which hit shelves at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club yesterday, generated the biggest first-day sales total ever for the chain, “by far,” according to a Wal-Mart source. He wouldn’t give the figure, but he did say it exceeded projections by 50%.
MORE FAST COMPANY: The Eagles will soar to #1 on this week's Clear Channel Top 200 On Demand chart, with nearly 300k plays and 411k page views. Long Road Out of Eden was streamed on 620 stations as part of CC’s Sneak Peeks promo.
AIRBORNE AGAIN: Long Road Out of Eden, The Eagles’ first studio album in 28 years, debuts at #1 on the European charts and is expected to top the charts in every territory in which it’s available. Meanwhile, in the U.S., where the band has an exclusive arrangement with Wal-Mart, the CD is reportedly flying off the shelves on day one of release.
