LROE: The Fastlane First Listen
I know we're all awaiting news from the concert tonight. To help tide you over, we've got a little something for you. We were granted access to a promotional copy of "Long Road Out of Eden" and we've updated our LROE page with lyric snippets and our initial thoughts on each of the new songs. We know that you all have heard bits and pieces of them on the band's official site and in some radio interviews. We also know that various radio stations will be playing cuts from the album this weekend, so we encourage you to add your thoughts to ours. What do you think? What did you like? What didn't you like? That's what we'd like to hear from you.
Please note that if you want to be unspoiled about the songs, that you probably shouldn't visit the LROE page.
I still need to add press mentions, reviews and album credits to the page, but I need to make dinner and watch The Office first :)

As always, L&M, you have been doing a masterful job in creating content for this site. And as we all eagerly await the release of LROE, you have heightened the excitement we all share. Thank you for your insights on the upcoming new tracks and for all your fabulous work. Is it October 30th yet??!!

Thanks a lot L & M for the detailed and personal reviews which very very informative and raised hopes and expectations for the album even more. Only trouble is: Now I have to try to get them out of my system again to be able to listen to the songs "unprejudiced" ...

Henley: ...this new double CD ...should perhaps have been a single album. ...

First of all - thanks for the review M.
Like most of you guys, I've just heard bits & pieces here and there so far.
B U T there's one thing I'd like to comment on: I was surprised to see that Steuart Smith has co-written 5 tracks & that Joe Walsh has only written 1 track. (NOT that there's anything wrong with that).
AND perhaps Henley was right when he just said that he preferred this new CD to a single album.

Thanks L&M.
Things of note --
there's only only one mention of Joe (he sings 2) ...but several tracks do reference great guitar work
Timothy co-wrote LROOE with Glenn & Don (closest to a whole band writing collaboration)
The write up for the LJ McNally track seems to be incomplete (Canada ??). Would Glenn's After Hours be the perfect last minute substitute for this song?
