Fan Reviews of London O2 Show

Thanks to Emma and Austin who sent us their reviews of the recent show in London. Check them out!

Well said Chris, like I said I was there Wednesday too, and Know exactly what you mean about people coming in late (fair enough I know some people may have genuinely been late because of traffic etc) as a result the Eagles started late and could only do one encore. On the ticket it says a prompt start the O2 should announce about a quarter of an hour before it suppose to start that everyone should be in their seats. I also agree about people getting up and down all night getting food and drinks, we had to actually move from our seats further away because of this as it was distracting us and obscuring our view.
The Eagles are one of the greatest bands ever and they deserve some respect. I noticed that people were getting up and down when they were performing their new songs and their solo ones. I went to see a tribute to the Eagles the other night - the Illegal Eagles the audience all got there on time, no cameras were allowed and more to the point no drinks whatsoever were allowed in, consequently we didn't have to put up with people getting up and down all night getting drinks. This is the kind of respect the Eagles deserve. We had a great view. I just wish it had been the same when we went to see the Eagles at the O2.
I too hope that the Eagles continue touring and making more great music nobody could ever beat them. Their sound was magnificent.
As Don said he will never say never, and that they have quite a lot of new material left over from LROE album. So fingers crossed.
I hope you get to see them again Chris.

I went to see the Eagles at the o2 last wednesday 26th. They were brilliant! I enjoyed every minute apart from the ignorant prats who were perpetually up and down getting drinks and food all throughout the performance, not to mention the numerous people who managed to arrive late.
The combination of great songs and a truly
amazing band was unbeatable. They have the most superb "sound" and are out on their own when it comes to reproducing their music on stage.I hope they will continue to tour and create new songs for a lot longer, with their talents and abilities it would be a crime to give up now while they are still capable of coming up with albums of the quality of Long Road Out Of Eden and performances of the brilliance I witnessed at the o2.

Bobertv I totally agree I was there Wednesday and that totally made me so mad: people coming in late when it said there would be a prompt start (which meant the boys had to start late and could only do one encore), getting up during the songs (especially the new songs and Joes solo ones)& drinking. I was so surprised that alcohol was allowed in the arena especially in glass bottles.
Nevertheless it was an excellent night and the eagles were on fantastic form.
P.S. Reet' you forgot Lifes Been Good : - )

Attended Wed 26th concert have been a fan since they formed first time we have seen them live & they were just fantastic- beyond our wildest expectations. It was faultless EXCEPT FOR THE CONSTANT INTERRUPTIONS BY THOSE NEEDING TO GET SOMETHING TO EAT & DRINK- WHY ARE THE BARS OPEN AT THE O2 DURING THE CONCERT? & WHY ARE LATECOMERS LET IN?- BEWARE- DONT SIT NEXT TO GANGWAYS WHICH ARE BETWEEN YOU & THE STAGE.
But back to the Eagles the playlist was varied giving each member a turn & the mixture of new & old was perfect. We're seriously contemplating going on the 5th- BUT NOT NEXT TO A GANGWAY.

Absolutely SUPERB show, the best ever! I'll add comments tomorrow as I need sleep!

Anyone have the setlist for the Wednesday show? Post it here if possible. Thanks! What an awesome gig it was!!!!!

Yes I totally agree Roger it was supurb, I just got back too, and yes what a legend Joe Walsh is, I love that man. I could sit and watch him play guitar for hours. As much as I like and respect Stuart Smith I just wish Joe did the lead on all the songs. I am looking forward to seeing them again on 5th April.

Just got back from the O2 (Wednesday). Absolutely superb concert. Joe Walsh stole the show. What a legend!

Saw the guys on the 23rd March..fantastic! As always a note perfect performance. They did seem a little subdued though. Probably the cold weather... I hated the snow and wind a lso! Don't like them in suits though.Too much like 'Men In Black'. Apart from that LOVED THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, what a show. My first Eagles gig, tho' have been a fan for 19 yrs. Bit disapointed with the first section - really flat and while sound quality good, was WAY too quiet.
When I see HC played live, I want my ears to melt!! About two songs before break, the base and drums seemed to get louder and the audience seemed to get more animated too. Show continued to get better and new material was great.
Was praying for a second rendition of HC as an encore, as the first one was a bit lame, but alas it was not to be.
Never the less, a great show in a great venue.

I have seen the Eagles 3 times in about 6 years and fair play they are the business.
How many other groups have 4 front men who all add different quality's to give the sum of the parts an unbelievable 10 out of 10.
I spoke to one of the doormen on gate 108 before the concert and asked him what he thought,to which he replied "I havn't seen them yet but he did say he enjoyed the Spice Girls a few weeks back.Wow,how sad.
I bought the Eagles latest album a couple of months ago,to condition myself for the concert but when the second half started with "No more walks in the woods"I was blown away.Keep having those farewell concerts boys cos you are easily the best live group I have ever seen.

You are right Austin. He did cheer up towards the middle of the set. When Glenn did the band intros he was messin' around giving each member a little drum beat and at one point raised his arms right above his head, went to hit the drums but just did the actions and didn't actually hit anything.
I also forgot to mention before that in Life's Been Good, Joe did the 'they write me letters, tell me Don's great!' and pointed behind him to Don on the drums.
All these little bits keep coming back to me as I try and recall last Wednesday. Don's mood really didn't affect his voice at all. My friend was completely blown away. It all went by so fast.

Say Hi to Emma and sorry I didn`t meet up with her. She mentioned Don looking subdued?
I did think he was looking a bit nervous and a bit sturn looking towards Glenn, but he did seem to lighten up as things went on along. Thats what you get for being born under the Cancer birth sign just like myself. You just don`t know what is going on in our heads. One thing it didn`t effect his singing, not one bit.

I was thinking of you on Wednesday night, Emma, (after our 'The One Show' chat on Tuesday). OK, I was green with envy as my invitation hadn't arrived in time - I'm still waiting, actually!!

Now I've read your review, I have changed to a slightly lighter shade of green. I guess I was closer in the from row at Birmingham last year. OK, I didn't hear all those new songs live but, hey, 2008 may (fingers crossed) happen.

I hope you DID enjoy the evening.

By the way. Never been to Glasgow but the drunk scottish man always seems to find me in London:)
I look forward to seeing him soon ~

Thanks guys. I have been sitting thinking back on Wednesday night this evening. It feels like it never happened. Sitting there peering down between the huge heads of the ship owner guys was a bit like watching them on a giant TV screen. As if I wasn't even there. I wish I had met up with Austin and then we could have felt out of place together!
I agree with Austin that Dirty Laundry was fantastic. I noticed Glenn seemed to be playing more lead on that than usual and took centre stage for it. He couldn't have played it better.
I feel pretty flat now that its over. The nerves and excitement went for me before we arrived at the O2 which in one way is good because I think I would have passed out had I been as excited as I have been all week.
On the other hand I am annoyed with myself for not being more excited on the night and feel I took it all a little for granted. Then again, how many times can one band change your life?

Many thanks to Emma and Austin for these great reviews.
I loved and totally agreed to your last sentence, Emma!

I loved Emma's last bit of her review. I take it she has been to Hampden Park, in Glasgow then?
