Someone mentioned to us more than a month ago that CMT would be doing an Eagles special because they had so much great footage from the 60 Minutes interviews....over 6 hours! Now we have an airdate: CMT will show the special on February 11th at 9 PM EST.
Thank you for the info. I remember watching it and to see the enjoyment on the faces of the band at that period was superb. Let's hope for more of the same on March 22nd in London.

The song is called Silver Dagger. The Eagles only ever did one verse from it. You can find more info about it here:

Does anyone remember the programme "Eagles Live" shown on the BBC a few months ago, from around 1973. The line up was the 4 original members and I think it even preceded Desperado. The reason I ask is that prior to the performance of Take It Easy there was a little acapella song, which I'd never heard before or since. Anyone know what it was called?

When you account for commercials, and the extra BS from the studio host, the VH1 Classic 60 Minutes series has only been giving about 13-14 minutes of actual 60 Minutes footage. And of course we know some of that, on the original CBS broadcast was footage from the Farewell I DVD. But that may change. I hope the CMT show will use mostly different footage from CBS and VH1. But we Timothy fans know it's generally best to keep our expectations low. Still, anything CMT might show that is new will be better than nothing.

CMT used to be shown on Satellite tv in the uk but I guess economics took over and it closed down a few years ago. Now the only country music played is either at the weekend or at nights on commercial radio stations as most of the daytime stations play top 40 or new releases on rotation.

Miller Robertson asked whether CMT would show the special in the UK.
My answer to that is, it would be nice if www.cmt.com would show anything at all in the UK on there site, because all we get here in the UK are ads but no videos.
The CMT site to my knowledge has had a block on there videos being shown outside of North America for almost two years for damn political reasons, which doesn`t exactly help the artists concerned who are trying to plug there material.
Having said that can anyone tell us if you can get CMT through any other avenue and does anyone know out there when someone will have the common sense to put a country channel on the Sky in the UK instead of just the Rock and pop channels?

Do you know if they will show this in the UK?

I could be wrong, but I think it will be slightly different....and 30 minutes is sure longer than the 8 minutes of the original 60 Minutes piece. :)

It's only 30 minutes long, most likely it's the same thing that VH1 Classic will show when they get around to showing it in their series.
