The Great American Country (GAC) website has this handy feature that tells you approximately when a video will air. For example, I just noticed they're listing Busy Being Fabulous as airing around 1:26 PM Eastern time today. Try to catch it....the video looks great on the big screen.
Just a few things to get you through the week.
Tim reported that he's seen the Busy Being Fabulous video on the Great American Country channel (GAC) so it must be in rotation.
ILAA packages for Atlanta go on sale tomorrow. 5 Star packages are listed at $795 (but that includes parking).
Apparently, the Randy imposter is at it again. Mike let us know that he ran into him at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas.
A slew of news reports have mentioned Don as being one of the entertainers at a media event in France to launch the new QTrax music downloading service. This service says that it will have thousands of free songs available for download because they've got licensing deals with 4 of the major record labels. There's apparently some controversy because the service has launched and not all of the licensing deals are in place. We have no other information about why Don was there. It would be interesting to hear him talk about something like this and if he thinks its a viable alternative to illegal file-sharing and .99 cent downloads at iTunes.
Ticketmaster has listed the Atlanta date now. You can go and check it out. Prices are a little higher than we anticipated, but there are seats available for as little as $69.00.
We do have a favor to ask you. If you are buying tickets for this show (or any show that may be announced in the future) we ask that you come to the Fastlane and click through to Ticketmaster. You'll notice that we have a link listed now over on the right ----> and we'd appreciate it if you went through that to get your tickets. TM finally has an affiliate program and we can get a small cut of each ticket sale to help support the site. We are constantly approached by ticket brokers who want to buy ad space here on the Fastlane and we always tell them no. We don't want to clutter up the site with ads and we don't want to support something that takes tickets out of people's hands. That's why we're very happy about the Ticketmaster program.
There's supposed to be a way that we can put up this cool tour graphic, but right now, it's not recognizing Eagles as a valid band. We're trying to work out the kinks, so for now, you'll just have regular links.
Thanks everyone and good luck getting tickets!
(oh, and if you're buying tickets for anything else...Hannah Montana, The Lakers, Camelot...if you click on any of our "buy tickets" links and then search around on TM for what you're looking for, we'll get credit for that as well).
We've long been frustrated by the fact that sometimes there's too much stuff here on the site and people don't get a chance to check it out. We're going to try to highlight some of the older or rarer things in our archives. If you look over on the right -----> each week we're going to list a video clip, audio interview and print piece. Take a watch or listen and then head over to Eagleland where we're discussing them.
This week, we're talking about "selling out", lip-synching, and band interviews in general. Join us, won't you (remember, we've made it even easier to register and post on Eagleland).
Don Felder's book has found an American publisher and will be available in the US in May. You can preorder it if you are interested in reading it.
The Rocky Mountain News recently ran a feature about the legendary Caribou Ranch recording complex. Joe Walsh and Bill Szymczyk both offer comments about their experiences there. It's a great look back at an important piece of classic rock history. Thanks to Barbara, Betsy and Paul for the heads-up on this.
We've been having some problems with the email notification system on our forum. Because of that, some folks have been registering and havne't received their confirmation email. We've turned off the function that makes you wait for confirmation. So...you should be able to register and post right away.
We're having some great discussions about the upcoming tour, so feel free to come on over.
Just head to the forum, create an ID and get started!
The Eagles will kick off a US tour May 14th at the brand new Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Atlanta, GA. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 1st.
