Ticketmaster has some more information about the April 6th cancellation. The cause: the ever popular "scheduling conflict." The good news....ticketholders will have a chance to exchange their tickets for the April 5th show.
As you can tell from the badges over on the left, we're experimenting with a little social networking. We've had a MySpace for a while and it's been working out okay. We've added a Facebook and we're a little unsure how that works. If you're on Facebook and want to friend us (or whatever they call it) please do so that we can play around with it a little more. It seems like there are a lot of Eagles fans there. We're trying to figure out if we should start a group there or join groups. It's a bit confusing for us oldsters, so any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
We have Joe to thank for this. There's an interview with Irving Azoff in today's New York Post about the decision to sell the album at Wal*Mart and not to sell individual songs on iTunes. This is probably the most interesting line and confirms a lot of rumors we've been hearing:
"There's a history of the Eagles film and DVD in the works...."
Joe appeared on Celine Dion's television special, "That's Just the Woman in Me," to play a beautiful guitar accompaniment on "Something". More photos can be seen on the message board.
Donhenley.com is listing February 24th as the date of the entire Virgin radio interview. Remember, Don sat down and talked to Ben Jones. We've got a little preview you can listen to thanks to JoeB.
Next Sunday, you can listen in online from 9-10 PM GMT.
Just a quick note to let you know that we've deleted some comments today. We provide the comment capability to allow readers to discuss the articles and news pieces we post. We do not provide them so that everything gets turned into an argument/rant about Don Felder. If/When these off-topic Felder comments pop up, we'll delete them. We're sick of having to moderate these arguments and then get the nasty/abusive comments and emails that usually follow.
There is already a place on this site to discuss Mr. Felder and all aspects of his career. You can rant there until you are blue in the face. The comments section in stories that have nothing to do with him is not the place for that. Thanks!
So...Richard Moore (see the story below) was asked if he'd consider accepting donations from Glenn Frey now that Don Henely has sent a financial contribution to Moore's opponent.
"I saw Mr. Frey's golf swing this weekend out at Pebble Beach. He certainly plays a lot of golf," Moore said before realizing what he had just said to a room full of reporters. "Not that I was there. I saw it on TV."
Richard Moore is running for the democratic nomination for governor in North Carolina. Moore ran an attack ad against his competition, Beverly Purdue. In the ad, "Life in the Fast Lane" played over images of congested traffic Moore claimed was caused by a bridge Purdue supported.
When word of this ad got back to the Eagles camp, Irving Azoff made it clear that Moore's campaign was not authorized to use the song. Moore's people reworked the ad and took out the song saying, "We certainly don't want to get crossways with Eagles."
They sure didn't! It's now been reported that Don Henley sent $4000, the maximum amount allowed by law to Beverly Purdue. Don't mess with these guys!
