Have you been wondering what Hotel California looks like on the new Guitar Hero World Tour? Here it is on expert level:
Finally, Don Felder talked to Johnnie Walker on the BBC this weekend. It was a typical interview, but Johnnie showed that he's more professional than some sycophantic DJs who have done these interviews by pushing Felder and forcing him to think just a little outside of his usual talking points. Thanks to JoeB and SteveD who both sent us the files. 1 | 2 | 3 | 4
Sorry for the delay in getting this up for y'all. This is a very long podcast. We talked and talked on our way back to Austin. We wanted to make sure to include as many details as we could because this was a very special show and we knew that not many of you could/would be there and we wanted to help you feel just a little bit like you were there. Enjoy!
The Longview paper has a photo gallery from last night's show. We'll be back in Austin this evening and will have the chatroom open then. For now, here's a few photos that we took (Don allowed photography during the first 3 songs...just like they do for professional photographers).
As we said before, this was an amazing show. Don really thought about the set list and wanted to create a special evening. He said he had two themes for the night: "Autumn/Halloween" and "The rich cultural tradition of East Texas". Here's the set list:
I Put a Spell On You (Screamin' Jay Hawkins) Dirty Laundry Witchy Woman Forget Her (Jeff Buckley) Born Under a Bad Sign (Albert King) New York Minute Everything is Different Now One of These Nights Ghost in This House (Allison Krauss...and this was the standout song of the night in my opinion) Too Far Gone (Ray Charles) Come Rain or Come Shine September Song (Frank Sinatra) End of the Innocence Boys of Summer Everybody Wants to Rule the World (Tears for Fears) Heart of the Matter Life in the Fastlane Hotel California Desperado
We'll have more details about the show, the amazing facility in Linden, the friendliness of the staff, and the meet and greet after the show. Here are a few teasers of what we talked to Don about:

We're standing here at the reception after the linden show. What an amazing, amazing night. Don did some of his songs, and everything from Sinatra to Allison Krauss to Tears for Fears. A complete setlist later and a podcast tomorrow . We're waiting to meet Don now.
The Dallas Morning News has a short article about the Henley concert in Linden this weekend. We'll be there so expect a podcast! There are still tickets available and everyone at the show can still sit in the first 10 rows!
