I have been to the Eagles concert in Hjellerup, Denmark yesterday. It was a great show indeed, probably even better than the one in Stavanger, because the crowd, at least in the first rows were die-hard Eagles fans from around Denmark. I am not sure about the numbers, but it also looked like there were more spectators in Hjellerup, than in Stavanger. The setlist was exactly the same, which means a shorter version. We arrived about 2 hours before the gate was opened and managed to get in the first row and right into the middle! It looked like the Eagles are having a great time, and when the band came out for the encore, Glenn Frey said that on behalf of the band he would like to thank everybody for sharing the evening with the Eagles. As always, he did most of the talking. It was about +18, but cold wind blew every now and then, so Glenn took on a leather jacket halfway through the show. As he saw people in the crowd were smiling, he said: "No, it's not cold. It's just a fashion opportunity". But it must have been cold on stage, because Stewart Smith was breathing hot on his fingers after every song. The security guys were quite tough at the show and did not allow to take any pictures. I only managed to take several pictures after the show was over and the band were waving their goodbyes to the crowd.

Eagles Tour Tidbit

Because we're working on reformatting the page, we aren't going to put these tidbits on a TourBlog like we have in the past. Rather, they'll be right here for you to see :)

Gary went to the Iceland show and sent these thoughts:

I wanted to send this email my wife and I  attended the kickoff concert in Reykjavik, Iceland on Thursday June 9th the start of the European tour for the Eagles they put on a standing room only show for over 12,000 fans. This was the first European show we had every attended our feet were killing us we stood for over 4 hours. The band out did themselves performing great hits for 2 hours they were amazing and between Joe Walsh and his guiter magic and Don Henley's vocals I can't wait to see them again they have all aged gracefully but have not lost their vocals,sound or magic. A great night in an incredable country I would recommend a visit to all.

Reviews: Eagles in Norway

We are finally starting to get some reviews from Europe.  Sain sent us this short review and setlist from Stavanger:

 

I have just been at the Eagles concert in Stavanger and would like to share with you and other fellow fans.

 

This was a fantastic concert, with a great sound and visuals in the background. The concert was scheduled to begin at 7.30 pm, but there was first a Norwegian warm-up band performing 7-8 songs in Norwegian and the Eagles took the stage at around 9 pm. The setlist was quite different and much shorter to the Eagles show we have used to during the last couple of years. here is the entire setlist:

       So the entire concert lasted for about two hours. The concert was not broken down into      sections  as usual, and there was no break.  Sain has shared some photos from the concert as well.

A local newspaper also has a short review and photo gallery.  Gotta love Don Henley's t-shirt!  A reporter from the paper live blogged the show.....for anyone who can read Norwegian. :)

 

 

The Eagles Have Arrived in Iceland!

Are you ready for the European tour to start?  According to Icelandic media, the band has arrived in the country.

Randy Travis' new album is out and features a song with Don providing harmony. "More Life" is available as an individual download from Itunes...unlike the Brad Paisley song that came out a few weeks ago.

Big Changes Coming for the Fastlane

It's summer and that means that we have some time available to us.  We admit that we've let the site slide a little over the last year. The lawsuit had us disabling most of our features and removing a lot of what we had here on The Fastlane.  We're going to fix that, though.

As part of the process of giving the place a desperately needed face lift (some parts of the site harken back to 1996 or so), we're going to be taking down the entire site. Don't worry, though.  All of your news and info will still be here. Once it's down, it will be easy to put up what we can again in a way that takes advantage of new technologies and features.

If there's something on the site, though, that you rely on or want to save, please do so in the next week or so.  We're really excited about what the future holds.

If there's something you'd like to see here on the site, please let us know. Remember, this site is for you...the fans...that's why you name is in the title : )
