Meet Don Felder
Don will be doing quite a few public appearances in Southern California to promote his book. Complete details on all events are available at his publisher's website.

Don Felder is doing some press for his book Heaven and Hell (which became available in the US this week). You can see what he told the New York Daily News. He really wants the reporter to know that he isn't bitter.
Due to the fact that people can't play nice when we post Felder stories, comments on this are closed. If you'd like to talk about this, please head to the message board.
JoeB and HelenB sent us these two great articles from the April, 2008 issue of Record Collector. There is an extensive interview with Don Felder and a shorter piece with Randy Meisner. I couldn't get my PDF program to join these files, so you'll have to download them one page at a time. Sorry.

I'm locking the comments on this post. It seems like every time we post something about Don Felder, we have to deal with general nastiness in the comments section. If you'd like to discuss this article, you are more than welcome to come over to Eagleland to do so. I've set up a topic just for that purpose. Sorry if that seems like a hassle, but some people don't know how to play nice.
The Felderfans site reminded us that Don's book is set to be released in the states on April 25th. To support that release, Felder will be doing a couple of events in Southern California.
You can meet him at a QnA / Talk / Book signing at the Barnes and Noble in Santa Monica on May 6th or get your book signed at the Book Expo at the LA Convention center on May 31st. Details for both of these events are on the publisher's site.
Today on their BBC Radio 2 programme, Radcliffe and Marconie discussed Don Felder's book with Sid Griffin. They've got an interesting perspective. Thanks to JoeB who sent us the files. Part 1 | Part 2
Don Felder's book has found an American publisher and will be available in the US in May. You can preorder it if you are interested in reading it.
Well, we taped 3 days of the Bob Hope golf tournament in hopes of catching an interview with Felder. He didn't make any of the televised broadcast, but the folks at felderfans.com found a video interview on the Desert Sun website.
Don Felder has just been added to the list of celebrities appearing at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic golf tournament in Palm Springs January 16-20th. Too bad Glenn isn't going to be there. :)
You can read an excerpt of Felder's upcoming book at this UK site. You know, people will knock us for being biased or whatever, but from these excerpts, we don't have high hopes at all for this thing.
The writing sucks. It's straight forward narration with no details, feelings or elaboration. We have 8th graders who write better. I've read (and probably written) better fanfiction, you know? If people were looking forward to getting an insider's view of the band and if these excerpts are indicative of the entire book, they are going to be disappointed. No new information either. The "details" seemed like he culled them from the pages of Rolling Stone and the Eliot and Shapiro books instead of living them himself.
These excerpts confirm all of the negative things we thought about this book. Gross.
Thanks Brett for the heads-up.
Don Felder was interviewed on the BBC about his passion for golf as a preview of this year's Dunhill Championship at St. Andrews in Scotland this week. Joe B. was cool to record the whole thing for your listening pleasure. If you'd rather just read what Don had to say, head over to felderfans.com.
