The Pro-Am circuit usually heats up in late January and February and you can usually catch an Eagle or ex-Eagle out on the links. That's the case again this year.
Don Felder will be partcipating in the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic in Palm Springs. The tournament kicks off on Wednesday and runs through Sunday. It's being broadcast on The Golf Channel. Check the BHCC page for a list of televised coverage times.
In other golf news, we've had several people let us know that the folks at Pebble Beach have confirmed that Glenn will not be participating in that tournament this year. Bummer...but then again, the man who owns the toilet factory in my hometown isn't gofling either so now we really don't have to tune in.
Don Felder and Timothy B. Schmit will be the guests on tonight's broadcast of Off the Record. It doesn't seem like these are recent interviews, but they could be re-edited versions of old ones. What a great way to get back into the LRoE tour, which starts up again tomorrow. Thanks Tim!
Don Felder will be a guest on Public Radio's Sound Opinions show this week. Check your local listings for exact time, or wait for the podcast. Thanks Jeff for alerting to us to this and Julie for reminding us.
The Dallas Morning News has a short article about the Henley concert in Linden this weekend. We'll be there so expect a podcast! There are still tickets available and everyone at the show can still sit in the first 10 rows!
Not much going on as we wait for the shows to kick off again, but we have a few things to let you know about:
Golf Digest has released its list of best musician golfers. Don Felder is tied for #34 on the list (with a handicap of 10) and Glenn Frey is at #64 (with a 14 handicap). Cool, huh?
Speaking of Felder, Melody let us know about some gigs he'll be playing. You can catch him tonight in Jackson, California . He'll also be at the House of Blues in San Diego on April 10th and in Coachella, CA on the 11th.
Undercover in Australia reports that famed Beatle Buddy, Klaus Voormann, is making an album with help from Ringo Starr and Joe Walsh (thanks, Rasmus!)
And finally, Molly has an Eagle Eye! If some of you have been watching the new television show, Life on Mars, you may have thought that the styling of Michael Imperioli's character seemed a little familiar.
JoeB and HelenB sent us these two great articles from the April, 2008 issue of Record Collector. There is an extensive interview with Don Felder and a shorter piece with Randy Meisner. I couldn't get my PDF program to join these files, so you'll have to download them one page at a time. Sorry.
I'm locking the comments on this post. It seems like every time we post something about Don Felder, we have to deal with general nastiness in the comments section. If you'd like to discuss this article, you are more than welcome to come over to Eagleland to do so. I've set up a topic just for that purpose. Sorry if that seems like a hassle, but some people don't know how to play nice.
