Rainer let us know that Graeham Goble (one of the founding members of the Little River Band) has added some video clips to his website. You'll want to check the last three clips as they all feature Glenn with this Australian supergroup. Really cool!

Carol-Lynn attended the Deacon/Glenn Frey show at the Roxy on Friday. She shared her experiences and some photos/video from the event. Check out her report. Sounds like a really neat evening for a great cause.

Getting His Head in the Game

Wow. Lots of news today, huh? One of my students was just looking at a High School Musical site while we were in the computer lab and guess what I found? Glenn has just been signed to appear in High School Musical 3!!!!  Glenn will play Mr. Godby, the nerdy Band Director who helps Gabriella, Troy and Sharpay learn some important lessons about friendship and being yourself.  There was one quote from Glenn on this website. He said, "I'm really excited. When I get back from the European dates, I've got a week off and then I head to Utah to film. There's a big production number involving basketballs, flaming batons, blueberry muffins and 22 tubas so I've been practicing my steps here in my hotel room in Sweden. My kids are either really excited or really embarrassed. I can't tell." Check out the website here.

Glenn (and son) For a Good Cause

The LA Times is reporting that Glenn will be playing a benefit for Keep a Child Alive on April 11th at the Roxy in LA and he's not the only Frey on the bill!

"As for the winner, that has to be the Keep a Child Alive benefit show at the Roxy on April 11. And no, it’s not the winner because it’s for a good cause. It’s the winner because it’s possibly your only opportunity to see Glenn Frey share the stage with Malibu rapper Shwayze. It won’t be simultaneously — Shwayze and Cisco Adler are opening the show for the headlining Eagle along with Don Was, the Bird & the Bee, Hello Stranger and a few other cats. But it’s still weird. Run, don’t walk, for this one, because tickets are on sale now."

Giving Back

This year's Boys & Girls Club of Coachella Valley Grand Auction will be held this weekend.  Among the items being offered during the live auction are an acoustic guitar signed by all five Eagles.  The guitar was donated by Glenn's mom, who lives in the area.  Mrs. Frey was happy to donate the guitar because Glenn grew up with the Boys & Girls Club in Detroit.

The Political Intrigue Continues

So...Richard Moore (see the story below) was asked if he'd consider accepting donations from Glenn Frey now that Don Henely has sent a financial contribution to Moore's opponent.

"I saw Mr. Frey's golf swing this weekend out at Pebble Beach.  He certainly plays a lot of golf," Moore said before realizing what he had just said to a room full of reporters. "Not that I was there. I saw it on TV."

Pebble Beach Day 1

Yes, it's early February and that means that we're spending 3 days at the TCEA Convention here in Austin and working on covering Pebble Beach for you all at the same time.

Glenn had a very early tee time today which meant he was shut out of most of the Golf Channel's broadcast. He was on at the very end flubbing a putt.  We've got video and a few still images for you. Check back tomorrow when Glenn has a later tee time and may be interviewed.

Pebble Beach

First round play at the famed golf tournament starts today.  Glenn is paired with Craig Stadler.  Huey Lewis and Peter Jacobsen round out the foursome, who play at the Poppy Hills course today. The Golf Channel will broadcast play from 2 PM to 5 PM CST and again from 7:30 to 10:30 PM CST.
