Russell let us know that Joe has donated $50,000 to Kent State University to fund a scholarship program for arts students. Students who get this scholarship do not have to have outstanding grades...they only have to win an audition. More information is in this news story.
Last night on Rock the Cradle, the celebuspawn sang songs picked by their parents. Joe selected "True Colors" for his daughter Lucy. Lucy did a great job, but she didn't get enough points to be untouchable this week (that honor went to Dee Snider's son) so she needs your vote to stay in the competition. Joe was in the audience last night to support Lucy. Check out her performance and cast your vote! You have until Saturday morning (9 ET) to cast as many votes as you can.
If you watched "Rock the Cradle" tonight on MTV, you saw Joe's daughter Lucy give a pretty darn good performance of "Heart of the Matter". Lucy scored the most points from the judges so she is safe for next week. They showed some footage of Joe from the Farewell I tour and some cute family photos. If MTV doesn't post the performances, we'll digitize it and get it up for you this weekend. Check the RTC site for encore airings.
As reported below, Joe appeared on the Steve Dahl show today and let everyone know that the Eagles will be in Chicago on Sept. 27th. You can read a summary of the show (Joe calls in at the 6:59 mark) which includes some interesting tidbits about the European tour (Joe is staying in The Hague). You can also listen to the show on Steve's website.
We had heard that Joe and Tim were going to BE at the CMT Awards, but they will actually be PRESENTING at the CMT Awards. Thanks, Sandy and Lee Ann
Just found this on Joe's website: Hey everyone! I've been busy learning how to say "How Ya Doin?" in all of the languages of countries that we'll be visiting our world tour. I'm really proud of myself. Can you guess where we're going based on these phrases? Sorry. I don't know how to make all of those accent marks on my computer.
