Video on the Site: Summer Project
A lot of things have changed since we first started the Fastlane, especially in regards to the ability to deliver video on the Internet. When we first started this thing, the only thing we could do was hook a device called a Snappy up to the TV to get screen shots. Then, we discovered how to capture things in .rm format. That's why many of our videos need RealPlayer to view them. We now have the capability to bring you things in a wide variety of formats. We want to focus on video this summer and need input from you.
We're wondering if we should redo all of the old video. I think people have told us that either .mov or mpeg is fine with them for format. Should we redo all of the old stuff or focus on new stuff? What's more important to you...quality or ease of downloading? Is there some way we can organize our video better? Do you want thumbnails? Embedded players? Any suggestions or input you have to offer is valuable to us. If you don't watch the videos, let us know why. If nobody is watching them, we could focus on something else.
We look forward to seeing what you have to say.
