Listening to this one NOW - live on GOLD.
Ooopps. Is this a great rocker ???
I don't hear it. Mr. Walsh has sounded so much better before.
A weak track altogether. ( a FILL IN )
Of the 7 songs we've heard today on GOLD, this one is the weakest.
Strange singing along (in my best Frankie Miller gruff) during the first listen. As Joe said no one can sing a Frankie Miller song better than Frankie.
Listening to the Gold Radio show, both this and the Paul Carrack song sound like they made the cut despite being initially rejected as the band we're hoping or expecting to find something better.
Nice song... this version is better than the Robocop soundtrack cut
I still think One Day At A Time is much better than this one...
(why is ODATAT out of the album is a big mistery to me...)
a well played and pretty decent song anyway.
This one is growing on me, it has some meat in it! Though at first i was kind of disappointed that the guitar solo was just half of the solo spot, piano taking the end part of the solo.
On a side note... Does Joe sound like Ozzy when singing to anyone? to me it sounds very ozzyish :) That´s not a bad thing.
I listened to them in November 2006 in Mexico City on the "Farewell Tour 1" and sounded extraordinary. It´s awsome to listen them again in this new album which fortunately maintains the same style and same voices of one of the greatest bands ever. Viva EAGLES!!!!!
I'm not sure what they were thinking when they put this on the album. First of all, it was released ages ago. Joe played on it on the Robocop series soundtrack. And it wasn't the best song in the world then either.
And the version on this album sounds almost identical to the ones already released. (I believe it was already released twice before this)
Old song, old arrangement. Not that it's a particularly bad song, but I would really have preferred a Joe Original. Maybe something like "Indian Summer" or "Second Hand Store". Joe is capable of writing such great songs and a lot of the releases from his solo albums would have fit perfectly on Eagles albums anyway. Maybe Joe felt pressured to do something rock'n'roll. This is a rocker, but I would have preferred something along the lines of "At the station".
I think even the Track Joe did with Lita Ford ("Future to this Life") would have been a better choice than this song.
I'm not surprised the Eagles are already playing GOTC live but I can't decide whether Joe will now start performing at his solo shows, evem though it's already over a decade old.
I really don't think it's strong enough, but I suppose it'll depend on whether the audience start shouting for it (and Last Good Time In Town) instead of Turn To Stone, The Bomber and The Confessor.
I like it. Maybe it's because I haven't heard it before but I think it's a great song that stands out a little bit and I feel that the cd need this song to "brake off" from the others.
Wow. I didn't think the band could go this low. What a waste of time. As one radio host put it, this is a "half-ass song". I'm not sure it's even that. Just awful. Cover something if you can't do something better than this, Joe. Good grief.
Typically fun Joe song. I envision clap-a-longs at concerts if played live. This will be when the perennial butts-nailed-to-chairs actually stand up and boogie in place!
I liked Guilty of the crime, it's a 'i may be an old timer, but i can still rock you gal, just give me a few mins to come over on my zimmer frame', kinda bawdy when it's played live, typical Joe song, that i love to hear.
Last Good Time in Town, is so zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, and just plain wrong!.
I recognized this from the "Robocop" soundtrack also. I think Joe Walsh & Lita Ford "A Future To This Life" was a sweet tune. Sorry got sidetracked.
I didn't dig this song too much at first, but the more I envision a concert, the more I can simply see that when that waning slide guitar comes in at the start, people will instantly know that it is a Joe tune and will begin dancing and cheering. It will be a great crowd pleaser although it is a cheezy track, it's probably a blast to play live. Joe always has a way of bringing the party even at the age of 60.
By the way, Joe's 60th birthday was on Nov. 20th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOE!
Nice to see that The Eagles - like Eric Clapton ( Forever Man) are aware of the talents of Jerry Lynn Williams.

I wonder if the Eagles swapped Clapton for Walsh whether he'd get a write one, sing one contribution to a 20 song Eagles album.
Trying to think which Clapton songs would replace Joe's in the live set.

Hmmm.....it's not terrible, but it's not great either. I'd have been happier if they'd used ONE DAY AT A TIME, as it's much better than this.

It's Joe so I like it. Yep I'm still a fan.

It's a typical Joe Walsh song: Rocker with a foot on the brakes. Would have preferred One Day At A Time, too ...

Very Peter Frampton sounding vocal on The Eagles 2007 recording

Not my favourite of Joe's but still a great song.

It's OK, not a great song in my opinion. I would have preferred ODAAT as well - at least there is a message (and a very personal one) in that song.

It's definitely not my favorite, but it's decent. "One Day At A Time" would have been nicer.
