Start Compiling the Track List for the New Don Henley Country Album

CMT is reporting that the track that Allison Krauss provided harmony vocals for is a cover of the Louvin Brothers' "When I Stop Dreaming".  Thanks, Therese!

Don Henley on New Brad Paisley Album

This was on The Boot.  We wonder if Brad will reciprocate by appearing on Don's album?

Brad goes on to reveal that the Eagles' singer is slated to sing background vocals on a song titled 'Love Her Like She's Leaving.' "It feels like something that either he would have written or the Eagles would have done," he explains.

Brad's album is due in stores April 19th. Can't wait to hear it!

 

Another Guest for the Henley Album?

Jeff emailed us about this post from last May on singer/songwriter/guitarist Richard Thompson's website.  Apparently RT has played on one track on an upcoming Henley album. We don't know if this is the country album or another project, but Don has been working on something for a while now : )

 

Don Felder Interview: Heaven and Hell...The Movie?

The Felderfans website has a new radio interview with Don Felder. It's a fairly standard interview, but in it, he mentions that there is some talk of turning his autobiography into a movie.

Timothy B. Schmit -- Berklee Benefactor

Jean and Timothy Schmit, parents of Berklee student Ben Schmit, have established the Timothy B. Schmit Endowed Scholarship for students studying the bass guitar.

Outstanding continuing students with demonstrated financial need will be nominated by the Bass Department, with a preference for bassists who also sing. Bassist Hayley Batt, from Farnham, England, is its first recipient.

Bass guitarist and singer Timothy Schmit is best-known for his work as a member of the The Eagles, who have won a total of six GRAMMYs and been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Their recordings Greatest Hits and Hotel California are both ranked among the top 20 most-selling albums of all time.

There's more in the piece about Stan Lynch producing the project.  If you've been hanging out on Eagleland, you know that we've been tracking this story since October when singer Eamonn McCrystal posted the photo above on his Twitter account. Random mentions of Don being in and out of Nashville studios have also been popping up on Twitter. Just this last week, he was spotted at the Sound Emporium in Music City. Very exciting.

New Glenn Frey Interview

It's always great to wake up and find something cool in our email box.  Thanks to Jon for sending this our way. Glenn appeared on Robert Wuhl's (you may remember him as Arli$$--Glenn appeared on that HBO comedy) radio show.  We haven't had time to listen to the entire interview yet, but what we've heard is great. He talks about his favorite sports teams growing up and how the Eagles began (that's all we had time for before having to leave for work).  Thanks again, Jon.

Don Henley Sits Down For An Interview

An actual sit-down interview with Don Henley is rare these days (he's taken to doing his interviews via e-mail) but the Strait Times in Singapore actually had a face-to-face with Don.  There's not a lot new in this article, but it's nice to see him so candid. He talks about his family life, his feelings on going to South Korea and submitting their lyrics to Chinese authorities. Thanks to Therese for finding this.
